The Commerce Department said on Thursday new orders for manufactured goods dropped 10.1 percent. That was the largest drop in records going back to 1992.
Stripping out transportation orders which were depressed bya plunge in the volatile aircraft component, new orders were
down a more modest 0.1 percent.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast total new orders received by factories would decline 9.3 percent.
The U.S. manufacturing sector continues to expand, although growth may be moderating. The Institute for Supply Management said on Wednesday that its gauge of factory activity showed slower growth in September.
In August, orders for transportation equipment dropped 42.2 percent, a development already made clear in the government’s report on durable goods orders released on Sept 25. In July, aircraft manufacturer Boeing (N:BA) had reported outsized orders, making the decline in August unsurprising.
The Commerce Department revised slightly lower its estimate for growth in orders for non-defense capital goods excluding aircraft during August. However, the department also said July’s slight drop in this gauge, which is seen as a measure of business confidence and spending plans, was smaller than previously estimated.

ADF FOODS FOR INVESTMENT

- In the short term stock is on verge of a breakout above 80 recent highs.

- On a 20 year chart the stock has never gone above 80-100. It could be start of a long term trend change in the stock technically.

Fundamentally its in a very interesting business of food products – pickles etc. Liked the ADF Sould products available in mumbai and the company has scaled up to almost 25 cities.

Governance was not great before but a good dividend payout record. With entry of Lakshit Sanghvi, Ashwin kedia of Alchemy , Nikhil Vora ( ex head of research IDFC ) and Brahmal vasudevan and many marquee names entering in the last few quarters alongwith promoter increasing stake indicates the governance will be better and maybe better direction.

It does seem to be an interesting small cap company with very huge potential. A simple risk is a company which could not scale up in 20 years can it do now ( Me thinks so )

DELTA CORP------- DAMAN CASINO LAUNCH TO BE KEY TRIGGER

DELTA is India's first listed pure-play gaming company. It owns three of the six licenses for offshore casinos in Goa and enjoys a dominant share of India's offshore casino market. In 2HFY15, it will be launching (subject to approvals) a casino housed in Daman's only five-star hotel; this will be Daman's first landbased casino. Daman is likely to be much larger footfall market than Goa, attracting huge crowds from Mumbai and Gujarat. We expect DELTA to replicate its success in Goa's offshore casino market in the land-based casino market in Daman. Also, given that the Goa government is unlikely to issue new licenses and that landbased casinos are allowed only in five-star hotels, DELTA's competitive advantage should sustain.

Launch of Daman casino to be key trigger

DELTA is by far the largest casino operator in India, with ~2,000 gaming positions. The launch of its casino in Daman (subject to approval) and commencement of its offshore property, Deltin Caravela in Goa will take its capacity to ~3,400 gaming positions. With near doubling of its gaming capacity, DELTA will be in a better position to exploit the potential that the nascent industry offers. Further, we believe DELTA is at an inflection point, currently. The investment phase is behind and the launch of the Daman casino could trigger significant cash generation as well as RoCE / RoE improvement, beginning FY16

Well placed to capture strong growth

DELTA trades at 49.7x FY15E, 21.4x FY16E, and 14.4x FY17E earnings. We do not have a rating on the stock. However, given the significant growth potential for India's gaming industry, DELTA's dominant position, and strong earnings outlook for its gaming business, we believe it is well placed.
